Tess Klatt named Washington Closure Small Business Advocate

Tess KlattRICHLAND, Wash. – Tess Klatt is the recently appointed Small Business Advocate for Washington Closure Hanford. She is responsible for business relations, education and communications between Washington Closure and all small businesses desiring to do business with Washington Closure. Before joining Washington Closure, Tess held the position of Resource Development Associate at the United Way of Benton & Franklin Counties.

A native of the Tri-Cities, Tess studied Computer Science and Business Administration at Central Washington University. She is an active member of the United Way Young Leaders Society, participates in TechREACH mentoring programs, and volunteers with the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life program.

Washington Closure manages the $1.9 billion, seven-year River Corridor Closure Project for the U.S. Department of Energy. The 750-person company is responsible for cleaning up 370 contaminated waste sites, demolishing 486 buildings and operating the Environmental Restoration Disposal Facility.

The company has a goal of awarding 65 percent of all subcontracted work to small businesses and has an active program to attract and qualify small businesses for work on the project. Visit www.washingtonclosure.com/procure for more information.
